Hostess Kadogo Nyawade
Kadogo immigrated from Kenya to Europe when she was 24. She has traveled annually to Kenya to visit family and also for the foundation www.kadowinja.org, founded in 2009. Because she has made annual trips through Kenya, she knows the country well. In 2016 she started the construction of a small-scale resort in a village near Kisumu at Lake Victoria.
The Resort is, besides being a beautiful place to have a holiday, a good starting point for travel in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania as well as volunteering for its foundation and the local population.
Life around the resort is village life with many of the villagers practicing fishing and small-scale farming, with market days that include farm and animal markets. There are small traders that sell everyday necessities.
